Fruits are  naturally produced food that we can eat without any need to further process it. Fruits are also rich in useful nutrients.

       Fruits contains the nutrients which are very useful for our body. It contains vitamin A and C and also some fibres and potassium which are very useful to keep us healthy and fit. Fruits provides required nutrition to our body to keep us free from diseases.

  • Fruits are rich in nutrients like vitamin A and C. Therefore fruit consumption reduces the deficiency of vitamin A and C in our blood which in turn saves us from diseases caused due their deficiency.
  • Many fruits contains high amount of  potassium which when consumed by us helps us to reduce the problem like blood pressure.
  • Fruits contains very less quantity of sugar so that  when we consume fruits our blood sugar level does not increases by major difference. Therefore, it helps to maintain our blood sugar level and thus saves us from disease like diabetes.
  • Fruits contains very little calories and negligible amount of fats. So they help to control the cholesterol level of body and also prevent diseases like obesity, heart attack.
  • Fruits are rich in potassium, so they help to regulate the blood pressure. Thus they prevent blood pressure related diseases.
  • As fruits are rich in nutrients, they keep our body rich in nutrients which helps to prevent deficiencies of any nutrients.
  • Fibres present in fruits are a lot useful for us as they provide energy for performing certain activities in our day to day life. It makes us feel energetic.
  • During pregnancy including fruits i n diet is helpful for better health of both child and mother.

  • Fruits should be consumed whole or in a slices, because fruit juice has very less nutrients as compared to the whole fruits.
  • Consumption of fruits should be on daily basis.
  • one fourth of our daily meal should be fruits.
  • Usually choose local fruits for consumption, because fruits grown in another country in different environments may not suit your health.

Myth about fruit consumption

       Most of the people around world think that if they eat food made up of fruits they are consuming nutritious food. In market, many types food made up of fruits are available which are jams, ketchup, fruit juices and squash. People misunderstand that packaged food products made up of fruits are highly nutritious, but in fact they don't contains the natural nutrients present in fruits. shelf life, but they may not preseve their nutrition value. This is because when fruits are crushed to extract their juice or squash their is decrease in their nutrition value and after further processing they contain very little amount of nutrients.

      In a same way some people like to drink fruit juices. They feel that juices are very nutritious food that they are consuming. But, in fact this is not true. Fruit juices are very less in nutrients as compared to whole or sliced fruits.This is because extraction of juice from fruits reduces the amount of nutrients and finally we are left with very less amount of nutrients.

       Therefore, one should eat fresh and naturally grown fruits. One should  ensure that fruits that they are buying from market are free from use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. One should keep knowledge to identify fruits and vegetables grown artificially and naturally.
